Summary

With the heat of a kiss, the walls between Alizeh, the long-lost heir to an ancient Jinn kingdom, and Kamran, the crown prince of the Ardunian empire, have crumbled。 And so have both of their lives。

Kamran’s grandfather, the king of Ardunia, lays dead, the terrible secret of his deal with the devil exposed to the world。 Cyrus, the mysterious copper-haired royal, has stolen Alizeh away to Tulan, the neighboring kingdom where he rules。 Cyrus has made his own deal with the devil—one that would require Alizeh to betray her feelings for Kamran if she’s to reclaim the Jinn throne。

Alizeh wants nothing to do with Cyrus, or his deal with Iblees。 But with no means of escaping Tulan, and with the tantalizing promise of fulfilling her destiny as the heir to the Jinn, she’s forced to wonder whether she can set aside her emotions—and finally become the queen her people need。

Kamran, meanwhile, is picking up the pieces of his broken kingdom。 Facing betrayal at every turn, all he knows for certain is that he must go to Tulan to avenge his grandfather。 He can only hope that Alizeh will be waiting for him there—and that she’s not yet become queen of Tulan。

"If a book is well written, I always find it too short"(Jane Austen)Most reviews I see say that nothing happened or are in shock that the book ended so quickly。 I think what really happened is that Mafi's amazing writing and captivating dialogue carried readers to the end without effort。 I really appreciate how unique Alizeh is。 She is compassionate but not weak, intelligent but not manipulative。 Fantasy books these days tend to focus on cold-hearted(or just straight-up evil) women, so the fact "If a book is well written, I always find it too short"(Jane Austen)Most reviews I see say that nothing happened or are in shock that the book ended so quickly。 I think what really happened is that Mafi's amazing writing and captivating dialogue carried readers to the end without effort。 I really appreciate how unique Alizeh is。 She is compassionate but not weak, intelligent but not manipulative。 Fantasy books these days tend to focus on cold-hearted(or just straight-up evil) women, so the fact that Alizeh's strength comes from not just supernatural abilities, but also her heart, makes me so happy!!! Also!! the fact that she doesn't let herself get caught up in emotions and make dumb decisions warms my heart。 I admire Tahereh Mafi's ability to write true intelligence, emotional and logical, into her characters。 。。。more

i’m kind of disappointed…this instalment didn’t have much progression in the plot and it just dragged on and on。 however, mr cyrus is SOMETHING。 if him and alizeh are endgame, i don’t think i would be mad…but poor kamran (who was quite insufferable in this book, i might add😭)…we’re gonna have to wait a whole ass year to find out。 my whole thing is that it took me a while to get into this book because i forgot everything that happened in the first book like why r the releases so far apart 😭 i lit i’m kind of disappointed…this instalment didn’t have much progression in the plot and it just dragged on and on。 however, mr cyrus is SOMETHING。 if him and alizeh are endgame, i don’t think i would be mad…but poor kamran (who was quite insufferable in this book, i might add😭)…we’re gonna have to wait a whole ass year to find out。 my whole thing is that it took me a while to get into this book because i forgot everything that happened in the first book like why r the releases so far apart 😭 i literally have short term memory loss, please 😭 it was a classic enemies to lovers but i needed more PHYSICAL TENSION。 anyway, highlight quote: "You have no idea what I could give you," he said, his own eyes blazing。 "You have no idea what I want。 I have been in agony for eight months, Alizeh。 Do you know how hard it has been to pretend I don't know you? 3✰I had such high expectations for this book, but it was a pretty disappointing read。 I feel so unfulfilled after reading it, because it was simply a filler book that i think could have been condensed into half a book。 I feel like This Woven Kingdom was pretty much only a book to make you learn the world and These Infinite Threads was simply a filler so by the end after reading these two books you don’t get a lot of character development or story development。 Which is very disappointing。 The rea 3✰I had such high expectations for this book, but it was a pretty disappointing read。 I feel so unfulfilled after reading it, because it was simply a filler book that i think could have been condensed into half a book。 I feel like This Woven Kingdom was pretty much only a book to make you learn the world and These Infinite Threads was simply a filler so by the end after reading these two books you don’t get a lot of character development or story development。 Which is very disappointing。 The reason i’m not giving this book a 2✰ is because i love Cyrus’s character and the second half of the book was somewhat interesting。 Cyrus’s story is so tragic and it broke my heart 3 (His nickname for her OML 😫) But i found Kamran so so SO boring and because of that i barely pushed through this book。Overall this book was definitely one of my most disappointing reads ever and i hope that the third book is a freaking masterpiece。 Fav Quotes ❤︎ (possible spoilers)-> ”I didn’t know your name for so long, angel。 I love the way it feels in my mouth。”-> “I look at you and I can’t breathe。 In my mind, you are already mine。”-> “But will you promise me something, angel? 4。5 Wow its been awhile since I've been invested in a YA love triangle but here we are! Mafi hits all the YA fantasy highlights in a super fun and fast paced way。 Could have used a little more world-building but honestly this was just a lot of fun。 Reminds me of classic 2000s YA but in a good way。 Eagerly awaiting #3。 4。5 Wow its been awhile since I've been invested in a YA love triangle but here we are! This book was better than the first one but marginally。 It was overall okay。 It’s a slow burn and I have a hard time with those。 Wouldn’t read it again。

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 A conflicted 3。5。 I love Tahereh Mafi's writing style, this series really does come across like a fairytale to me so far, in that it's beautiful and written so well but it could be summarised very simply as a short tale to this point。 There's a huge amount of description and dialogue, yet in this book not much really happens。 The book spans the space of a day basically, set immediately after the events of book one。 The highlight, like so many others have said, is Cyrus。 To me he is really the on A conflicted 3。5。 I love Tahereh Mafi's writing style, this series really does come across like a fairytale to me so far, in that it's beautiful and written so well but it could be summarised very simply as a short tale to this point。 There's a huge amount of description and dialogue, yet in this book not much really happens。 The book spans the space of a day basically, set immediately after the events of book one。 The highlight, like so many others have said, is Cyrus。 To me he is really the only particularly interesting MC, it is clear he has chemistry with Alizeh and a bit of a 'will they won't they' going on, but that's progressed so quickly for one day! She barely mentions Kamran at all, who's going through his own personal hell (yet cannot be sympathised with too much。) Alizeh and Cyrus's scenes made the book for me。 Kamran, I don't particularly care about anymore, sorry Kamran! The author excels at characterization, if you don't enjoy books that are very character driven I can't imagine you enjoying this much。 Beautiful writing as ever, maybe not 100% up my street overrall and that is okay。 I'll read book three, but this didn't enrapture me like book one did - I would have liked to see more story as well as what we got, so essentially, a longer book! 。。。more

Last night, I joked that the big question is whether a whole day will pass in this book but the real joke is this book! It actually are just about 24 hours that pass during the cringeful course of the book and no, it's not an eventful day of battles or something。 It's just endless musing about whether or not the two POV characters want to bang or kill the prospective love interests, with several 180 turns on either stance。 You can imagine, it doesn't feel very believable if their emotions keep s Last night, I joked that the big question is whether a whole day will pass in this book but the real joke is this book! It actually are just about 24 hours that pass during the cringeful course of the book and no, it's not an eventful day of battles or something。 It's just endless musing about whether or not the two POV characters want to bang or kill the prospective love interests, with several 180 turns on either stance。 You can imagine, it doesn't feel very believable if their emotions keep swaying between such extremes in so short a time。 They just appear unstable and fickle。We have Alizeh hanging out with King Cyrus of Tulan who are basically Juliette and Warner 2。0。 A supposedly kind hero (Juliette is more convincing) who derails a bad boy who hides pain and good intentions behind his cruelties。 I could almost buy their wavering feelings between strong attraction and prejudice and mistrust, if it wasn't just。 One。 Mere。 Day their changing relationship is given to develop。 Tahereh Mafi could've stretched it out to weeks and have some actual plot events in between their encounters。 It soon becomes repetitive, too。 We get it the first time: They find each other very hot but don't dare to act on this for good reasons。 No need to show this again and again in 315585 scenes。The other POV belongs to Prince Kamran and it was painful to read。 I didn't like him very much in book 1 but he isn't really awful there or anything。 Yet he is in this book。 He acts like a complete brat, egoistic, irrational and violent, and definitely not someone to trust with any kind of real power。 He complains about anything, all the time, and threatens with executions without giving it further thought, only to change his mind two seconds after hearing another opinion。 Everytime someone calls him out, I couldn't only think how right they are, I wallowed in it because no one with a brain cell should let his horrible behaviour stand。 Okay, I could also give him the benefit of the doubt that he has only a day to deal with an extreme situation but that's also Tahereh Mafi's fault! In such an overwhelming situation he should take a break to rest if he can't think straight instead of having him act in this volatile manner。 That he first can't wait to see Alizeh dead and then pines to have her as his lover doesn't make anything better either。This book shouldn't exist。 Its events should've been boiled down to about 50 pages and started another novel with an actual plot。 Maybe book 3 will be that book but honestly, after this disappointment, I have little hope for this series。 。。。more

An exciting emotional rollercoaster with some complicated characters。 While there were many layers to the character development in this story, this book hardly moved the plot forward。I enjoy Tahereh's writing and think she could teach a master class on creating realistic and emotionally moving characters! Wow! I just don’t think I can wait another year for the next book! So intricately woven。 I do love the way this author writes。 No predictable at all。 I would 100% give this five stars if it wasn’t for the 3-4 F words that the author decided to throw in。 Why?? You don’t need that kind of language in this book。 I don’t believe these characters would talk like that。

nothing really happened in this book but I still ate it up??? Also I didn’t realize this was gonna be a love triangle kind of thing because I haaaaate love triangles 😃 I’ll stand by my original man kamran thank you

This Woven Kingdom had the perfect tone for me—sophisticated and thought provoking, with compelling characters and a quick moving storyline。 The sequel was less refined and shorter, and while I still thoroughly enjoyed it, I can’t help but feel like Mafi accidentally handed a third draft in rather than a fourth。 There was a lot of dialogue and getting to know a new character, and while I loved that, it could have gone a little faster and some more storyline could have been included。 I don’t like This Woven Kingdom had the perfect tone for me—sophisticated and thought provoking, with compelling characters and a quick moving storyline。 The sequel was less refined and shorter, and while I still thoroughly enjoyed it, I can’t help but feel like Mafi accidentally handed a third draft in rather than a fourth。 There was a lot of dialogue and getting to know a new character, and while I loved that, it could have gone a little faster and some more storyline could have been included。 I don’t like the feeling that I waited months for a book that spans only a few days, and will have to wait a year for potentially the same experience。 Still loving Kamran and Hazan。 Alizeh has shifted a little from the first book but I’m hopeful that her overall character arc will be a good one。 Cyrus is one of the most complex characters I’ve read in a while and I think his character was a good fit, even if he did take up too much of the book for a non main character。 I’m hopeful for the future but doubt the atmosphere of the first book will be returned to。 But man, I had fun。 。。。more

4。25 stars!I liked this one more than the first! It picked up right where the first book left off, and that helped to have that continuous story-telling。 I remember feeling like the writing was too formal when reading the first book, but for this one it felt toned down a little? Or maybe I got used to it faster? Idk, but I totally didn’t mind it at all in this one! He is such a complex character, and I LOVE that。 There’s so, so much more to him, and I’m very excited to learn more about him!!! I am 1000000% rooting for him and Alizeh! One thing I didn’t like was how this book literally takes place over 1-2 days, similar to the first book taking place over about 3 days。 I feel like a fantasy book should take place over at least a few weeks especially if there’s romance involved to be able to establish the romance, incorporate the banter and tension, and have that slow burn。 I do not want romances to feel like insta love!Overall, I really enjoyed this one! I’m excited for the next one! 。。。more
